The Ministry of Environmental Protection recently issued "The Provisions on the Administration of Environmental Protection on Import of Waste Plastic". According to the Provisions, four kinds of enterprises including chemical fiber enterprises are permitted to import waste plastic for raw materials.

Specifically, the four kinds of enterprises include chemical fiber production enterprises who use PET as raw materials; plastic product processing enterprises (including other enterprises that use waste plastic as raw material); granule manufacturing enterprises (except for regenerated PET chip producers); regenerated PET chips producers with production capacity in the same production location no less than 30,000 t/a (limited to importing waste and scrap of PET).
