Sichuan: Textile Industry Grow Slowly in 1st Quarter (05/23/2013)

In the first quarter of this year, the textile industry in China´s southwest Sichuan Province realized a sales revenue of CNY 31.59 billion, up 8.99% year-on-year, improving 4.9 percentage points compared with January-February period of this year, but 4.2 percentage points lower than the country´s average level. It realized a profit of CNY 1.63 billion, up 15.46%, 1.99 percentage points higher than country average level.

The exports of textiles and garment totaled US$ 777 million, up 96.08% year-on-year, in which, the export of textiles amounted to US$ 277 million, up 16.42%; the export of garment US$ 501 million, up 215.26%. The fixed assets investment in textile projects (each costing more than CNY 5 million) amounted to CNY 4.48 billion, up 1.26%, improving 2.8 percentage points compared with January-February period.
