The first chemical filament fabric industrial park in China recently broke ground in Siyang, Jiangsu Province. Over the past few years, Siyang has been making efforts to building a "powerful industrial county". In 2012, it generated an industrial output value of CNY 31.6 billion and an industrial value added of CNY 7.7 billion. The local textile industry has been growing rapidly. Now it has a cotton spinning capacity of 1.5 million spindles, weaving capacity of 20 million meters, garment processing capacity of 100 million pieces (suits) and blanket production capacity of 30 million pieces. It has also developed a chemical fiber sector that is composed of more than 20 enterprises. Now it has established a complete textile chain from fiber to spinning and weaving and further to fabric and garment, with annual industrial output of CNY 3 billion.

The industrial park will be located in Siyang Economic Development Zone. It will cover a land area of more than 166 hectares and cost a total investment of CNY 1.07 billion. The industrial park is expected to play positive role in upgrading the chemical fiber sector, expanding production scale and extending the industrial chain.
