To act in the spirit of the State Council for further eliminating obsolete production capacity, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has recently announced targets for 19 industries to scraping obsolete production capacity in 2012, asking local related departments to assign practical tasks to enterprises and take relevant measures to dismantle the announced main equipment (production lines) and guarantee these eliminated equipment will not be transferred to other areas and neighboring countries.

Textile industry-related tasks include eliminating 2.8 billion meters of printing and dyeing capacity and 220,000 tons of chemical fiber production capacity.
