In 2011, the caprolactam production capacity in China totaled 585,000 tons, up about 1.7% compared to 2010. Major producers include Sinopec Baling Petro Chemical Corporation (200,000 t/a), DSM Nanjing Chemical Company (200,000 t/a), Sinopec Shijiazhuang Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd. (160,000 t/a) and Zhejiang Juhua Group Corporation (25,000 t/a).

Most of the production lines adopt toluene-based caprolactam process except for a 65,000-t/a production equipment of Sinopec Shijiazhuang Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd., which uses benzene-based process.
